    Olivier van der Toorn from the University of Twente, who works on the TIDE project has won the overall Best Paper Award award at the Network Operations and Management Symposium in Taipei, Taiwan.

    3 years of continuous data collection
    We just celebrated 3 years of continuous data collection by the OpenINTEL platform! OpenINTEL data collection started in late February of 2015, with systematic collection starting on March 1st of that year. Since then, OpenINTEL has collected over 2 trillion data points and data from OpenINTEL has been used in more than 20 academic studies.

    Data from OpenINTEL in a CAA Adoption study
    Data from OpenINTEL was used in the first ever study of adoption of the CAA DNS record type that Certificate Authorities have to validate during issuance of X.509 certificates. This project is a collaboration between five universities across the globe. More information about the project can be found here.

    New record types added
    We now measure TLSA records asssociated with MX names for ports 25, 465 and 587 in a separate infrastructure measurement. The TLSA record type can be used to indicate valid certificates for TLS servers, and can play a major role in securing e-mail communication on the Internet.
