Researchers from RWTH Aachen used our open datasets on the Alexa 1M for their paper “Characterizing a Meta-CDN” (the paper can be found on arXiv)

OpenINTEL measurement coverage has been extended to include the .us ccTLD.

We just celebrated 3 years of continuous data collection by the OpenINTEL platform! OpenINTEL data collection started in late February of 2015, with systematic collection starting on March 1st of that year. Since then, OpenINTEL has collected over 2 trillion data points and data from OpenINTEL has been used in more than 20 academic studies.

The OpenINTEL measurement passed a major milestone at the end of December 2017: we now have over 2 trillion data points over all of our datasets.

Two papers that use data from OpenINTEL have been accepted for IEEE/IFIP NOMS 2018. For more information, see our Papers page.

Data from OpenINTEL was used in the first ever study of adoption of the CAA DNS record type that Certificate Authorities have to validate during issuance of X.509 certificates. This project is a collaboration between five universities across the globe. More information about the project can be found here.

We now measure TLSA records asssociated with MX names for ports 25, 465 and 587 in a separate infrastructure measurement. The TLSA record type can be used to indicate valid certificates for TLS servers, and can play a major role in securing e-mail communication on the Internet.

All our measurements now cover the CAA, CDS and CDNSKEY record types.

Our Alexa top 1M measurement now also covers the CAA, CDS and CDNSKEY record types. The results of this measurement are available as open access data.
