Access to Closed Data
There are restrictions on access and use of the data collected by the OpenINTEL platform.
Due to our contractual obligations towards the registries who have provided access to their
respective zone files, we do not make public the resulting measurement data. This is why most TLDs
in our zone-based forward DNS measurement data are closed type. For the open type data the zone
file is itself public (e.g., .se and .ch).
Access to certain closed data may be possible upon request.
Closed zone-based forward DNS measurement data
-
We can provide access to gTLD zone-based measurement data if and only if you demonstrate that
you have zone file access (e.g., show proof of an ICANN CZDS agreement). Please send this along
with your request.
- For zone-based ccTLD data we cannot provide access.
Closed list-based forward DNS measurement data
-
For the infrastructure measurement, we can provide a subset of measurement data comprised of
only the infrastructure names (i.e., from NS/MX records) that are contained in a zone to
which you can demonstrate access (e.g., show proof of an ICANN CZDS agreement). Please send this
along with your request.
Closed reverse DNS measurement data
- Access to the reverse IPv4 DNS data is discussed on a per-request basis.
